The Licence Revenue Office of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is the only agency in Guyana authorised to register an individual as a Driver and issue the respective licence. An application for Driver’s Licence can be made at the GRA’s Headquarters or any of its Regional Branch Offices.
No person shall drive a motor vehicle (privately or under contract) on a road unless he (or she) is the holder of a driver licence. This law is made clear under Section 23 (1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 51:02. The Guyana Revenue Authority is the sole entity to facilitate the sale of driver’s licences.
