If you have lost or damaged your licence, then you will be required to request a Duplicate of your licence. Note, you will be required to lodge a report with the Guyana Police Force, or, alternatively, an Affidavit of Lost or Damaged Licence can be obtained from a Justice of Peace (JO) or Commissioner of Oaths, before starting the process of applying for a duplicate licence.

Requirements for a Duplicate Private Car Licence

  • REQUIREMENTS

    1. A written report from the Guyana Police Force indicating the Licence lost or damaged; or An Affidavit from a Justice of Peace or Commissioner of Oaths.
    2. Copy of valid form of identification (National ID; Passport)

  • COST

    The cost of a Duplicate Licence is Four Thousand Five Hundred Guyana Dollars (G$4,500.00).

  • PROCESSING TIME

    The time applicable for the issuance of a Duplicate Private Car Driver’s Licence is approximately two (2) working days.

Requirements for a Duplicate Hire Car licence

  • REQUIREMENTS

    1. A written report from the Guyana Police Force indicating the Licence lost or damaged; or An Affidavit from a Justice of Peace or Commissioner of Oaths.
    2. Copy of valid form of identification (National ID; Passport)
    3. Two (2) Passport-sized photographs.

  • COST

    The cost of a Duplicate Hire Car Licence is Two Thousand Five Hundred Guyana Dollars (G$2,500.00).

  • PROCEDURE

    • The Licence Revenue Officer will peruse the documents presented. Once all documents submitted are in keeping with the requirements, a lodgment slip will be issued.
    • The applicant will be redirected to the Cashier to effect payment, where he/she will be further directed to the Dispatch Desk to uplift his/her Hire Car Licence Book.
