Guyana Revenue Authority wishes to inform Licensed Customhouse Brokers, Importers and users of the ASYCUDA WORLD System that the Government of Guyana, in keeping with its obligations under the Revised Treaty of Chaguramus, and a decision of the Forty-Ninth COTED, has announced the reinstatement of 40% Common External Tariff (CET) on Soaps of the following Tariff Headings:

• 3401.11.10.00                           Medicated Soap
• 3401.11.20.00                           Other in the form of bars, cakes, moulded pieces or shapes
• 3401.11.90.00                           Other, For toilet use (including medicated products)
• 3401.19.90.00                           Other
• 3401.20.90.10                            Hand Soap
• 3401.20.90.90 Other

Soap imported under the above tariff headings will pay the CET rate of 40% with effect from June 01, 2021.
