Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring investigations are conducted into complaints received from staff of the GRA, taxpayers, businessmen, or members of the public, or anonymously, on allegations of misconduct by staff of the GRA and to recommend appropriate measures, including sanctions and corrective actions, to curb or eliminate such incidents within the GRA.
  • Implementing the necessary guidelines and principles for conducting internal/integrity programme investigations of allegations of corrupt practices and victimization perpetrated by GRA employees.
  • Assigning investigations to be conducted to the investigators.
  • Ensuring the conducting of priority initiatives of the Authority in respect to investigations/complaints.
  • Vetting reports to ensure it is correct, all relevant evidence has been included, and allegations have been properly addressed.
  • Ensuringthat the conclusion is in keeping with findings and that the recommendations made are appropriate for the offence committed and in compliance with the GRA Employee Code of Conduct.
  • Supervising the monitoring of all Hotline reports and recording.
  • Monitoring container tracking before Processing and Permit to Immediate Delivery systems.
  • Any other related duties assigned.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/ Forensic Accounting/Auditing /Law, or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant supervisory experience.
  • In-Depth knowledge of Intelligence gathering.
  • Interviewing skills.
  • Analytical – should be able to identify criminal activity committed or potential criminal activity by analysing records, documents, procedures, and systems.
  • Detail-oriented – should be able to pay attention to details to identify potentially fraudulent tax-related activity.
  • Computer skills –should be able to use both standard and administrative software such as Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
  • Ability to motivate and resolve conflict.
  • Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Strong analytical, persuasive, and negotiating skills.
  • Familiarity with GRA’s Employee Code of Conduct, Ethics Policy, Employee Guidelines, Conflict of Interest, and Post-Employment Code.
  • Ability to provide oversight for well-written correspondence and investigative reports.
  • Ability to be discreet and tactful.
  • Integrity, Assertiveness, Professionalism, Accountability, and the ability to be a Team player.
  • Knowledge of the SIU’s manual.
  • Knowledge of investigation techniques, counter fraud, ABC Compliance, Ethics, or related field.
