Job Responsibility
Accumulating daily data on revenue collection and generate monthly revenue collection statements to monitor performance and highlight revenue deficiencies.
Compiling and analysing data on revenue performance and Taxpayers’ characteristics for all Tax types and tax policy analysis for monthly reporting to the Ministry of Finance and the Governing Board.
Investigating revenue performance to identify significant variances and recommend, prepare and present solutions through monthly analytical reports where applicable.
Forecasting and preparing revenue collections summary reports and submit to management and external stakeholders upon request.
Monitoring and analysing the use of Tax Incentives and Exemptions quarterly to identify major categories and beneficiaries.
Monitoring and analysing the revenue performance for the GRA’s Branch Offices and provide monthly summaries and quarterly analytical reports showing the significant variances and recommend solutions where necessary.
Generating Management Information System (MIS) Reports from Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) and JASPER for monthly analysis and respond to request for data by Management.
Liaising with all internal Departments / Divisions and represents GRA with external stakeholders to effectively ensure coherent communications of information to supervisors or staff of the Department / Division.
Any other duties linked to the post title and relevant to the grade of the post.
Job Specifications
Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA)/ Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Business Management/Economics, or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of the Tax Legislation and Trade Policy.
In-depth knowledge PC Applications (Microsoft Office).
Report Writing and Advanced Spreadsheet Skills.
Use of TRIPS, ASYCUDA and OPTIMAL.
Ability to conduct Tax Analysis, Revenue Modelling & Forecasting
Ability to analyse, reason and make excellent judgements.
Effective oral and written Communication Skills.
Strong analytical, persuasive and negotiating skills.
Ability to plan, organize, motivate and resolve conflicts.
